The staff at Active Lock & Safe Ltd. are professionally trained certified Journeyman Locksmiths and Apprentices, and are licensed and bonded. We have mobile and in shop technicians to meet the evolving needs of our clients, providing reliable solutions with a personal touch.

It all started in 1976 when Herman Visser decided to change careers as a lab technician in Powell River, BC. Herman, who had also been working as a part-time locksmith, and his wife decided to return to their Lethbridge roots, partly because of the community and partly because of family. No sooner had he opened his shop at 413, 2 Ave S that son David started working after school and weekends. Mark joined the team six months later. That was before the days of journeyman locksmiths and the sons learned the trade from their father and through experience. Extra training was obtained at trade fairs and annual industry meetings. David and Mark are both Certified Journeyman Locksmiths, and are actively involved in the Alberta apprenticeship training program.
